Shortcuts is Apple’s free, built-in automation app, descended from the Workflow app Apple acquired in 2017 and now the modern successor to Automator on the Mac. You chain together “actions” - steps that touch system settings, files, and first-party apps like Photos, Messages, Mail, and Safari - into a workflow you can run across your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Watch.
