Discord keyboard shortcuts for Mac
33 shortcuts · Updated
These are the default Discord keyboard shortcuts on macOS, based on Discord's official macOS hotkeys article. Discord leans on ⌘K for its quick switcher - the fastest way between servers and DMs - and on Escape and Shift+Escape to clear unread badges a channel or a server at a time. Note that Discord also lists its shortcuts in-app under ⌘/, which is worth checking after an update, since Discord ships changes far more often than it revises its help docs.
Nothing matches - try fewer letters, or an action word like "close" or "split".
Or stop looking them up. Super Shortcuts puts the Discord commands you actually use one hyper key away: hold it, see every command for the app you're in, release a key to run it. No memorizing - the cheat sheet is the shortcut.

Frequently asked questions
How do I see all Discord keyboard shortcuts in the app?
Press ⌘/ inside Discord to open its built-in shortcuts panel. This is worth doing after major updates: Discord changes its client frequently and the in-app list is more current than the help centre article, which hasn't kept pace.
What is Discord's quick switcher?
⌘K opens the quick switcher, a search field that jumps straight to any server, channel, or DM by name. It's the single highest-value Discord shortcut - it makes the server list on the left almost unnecessary, once you're in more than a handful of servers.
How do I mark a Discord channel or server as read?
Escape marks the current channel read and Shift+Escape marks the whole server you're currently in - not every server at once. Working through servers with Shift+Escape is still the fastest way to clear the badges that accumulate when you're in dozens of them.
